How’s August? Here’s an Update

I’ve got a couple of books upcoming (maybe even this month!): Sparks and Taken with Tony.

My novel releases have slowed down significantly in the last four or five years, but I’ve really just had a time of it, that’s all I’m going to say. However, that hasn’t meant I haven’t been writing. Slower, yes, but I have a lot of stories that have been slowly coming together. And now that my creative energy seems to be emerging from hibernation, I finally have quite a few of them getting really close to the finish line.

Sparks is the first book of the trilogy for Mage in Love, which was a serial fiction project that kind of got completely derailed mostly by life but definitely wasn’t helped by the closing of Kindle Vella.

And I honestly thought I would have Taken with Tony out years ago because it was so close, but then things happened and I just did not have the ability to get it done the way I wanted so I actually pulled it and decided to wait, and honestly, I’m glad I did. It’s a stronger story than it would have been, because of course, I’ve kept tinkering with it and working on it, and now I am so happy with it.

But other than a few short little stories that I might or might not get out before, after these, I’ll be releasing Liam’s Trust.

To put it into perspective, when I say the writing hasn’t stopped, I mean I actually have 26 ongoing works in progress at this moment. That is not a typo. Many of them are well on their way. Some are just a chapter or two. A few are just single scenes. But all are books I want to finish and publish someday. Three are Wolves’ Heat novels. Two are New Canton novels. A few are stories that are wildly new for me, not in my existing series, and that I started on a whim and fell in love with.

Because when things would get tough, sometimes I would just start something new, because I needed that enjoyment of a fresh start to keep writing. And sometimes, especially in the Wolves’ Heat series, things can get a little tense and a little emotional for me when I write. Take Cam’s Fortune. There’s a particular scene in that book that every time I read it, and absolutely when I wrote it, I cried so hard, just bawled my eyes out. The same happened in Will’s Hope. (More than once!) So what story always got put to the back and left for better moments when I was having a tough time? Liam’s Trust.

Anyway, this post turned into more of a little confessional than I expected, but I hope it helps you see that I’m still working on my books, that I’ve got releases upcoming, and that I might go a little quiet sometimes, but I’m not planning to go away.

I’m not someone who will ever stop writing. It’s really the only thing I know. :)

A Liam’s Trust Update and a Short Story for Liam and Eli!

I’ve been hard at work on Liam’s Trust. But while doing that work, I found some stuff that didn’t really need to be in the book. The first of it is a short little piece that introduces Liam and Eli’s friendship in a way I enjoyed, so it pained me to throw it out.

So I didn’t. I stole it from the book and I’ve published it as a short “moment” in the Wolves’ Heat universe. :)

The short story is Signal: A Wolves’ Heat Moment and it’s available now!)

I hope you’ll like it as much as I do!

Patreon supporters got access to the story in June. For anyone who wants an EPUB they can download and keep, getting it from me (at Laterpress) is the way to go. Buy from me.

Even though it’s just a short moment-in-time story (about the same length as the After the Heat stories), if you’re a completist, you might want to read it, and it’s unlikely I’ll publish it into any kind of collection, or if I do, it’ll probably be a long while before I do.

For early access to more short stories in the Wolves’ Heat universe, you can become a supporter of my writing on Patreon.

Working on Sparks, Taken with Tony, and Liam’s Trust

This month, I’m working on finishing up Sparks, Taken with Tony, and Liam’s Trust. Two are almost ready and one needs more time but still might not be too far off. I’m excited to say that I feel like my creative spark is finally back in force. It’s been a while since I really felt that way so I’m a little scared to talk about it in case I’m going to jinx myself.

But here’s to a happy July for everyone and a good writing month for me! :D
