Whew! The next New Canton book is just about ready

I’m working hard to get the next New Canton book ready for release (Of Relations and Ships). This week was the plan, and I think I might still make it by the end of the week or the weekend. I’ll let you know details as soon as I have things ready to go. I’m excited to finally get this one done and out. It took much longer to write than I expected (seriously, I started this one more than a year ago)! :-)

Oh. My. God. I knew I was gonna get some good news today! Any ideas when I can pre-order it? I’m so happy! Now if you tell me there’s a new Wolve’s Heat book coming up, I’ll really die. I swear I’ve read both these series about 10 times each. You should see my notes on the Wolve’s Heat series. That is a super complex storyline, my friend. Thanks for the happy update!

I think it’s going to be a few more days. But I’ll post as soon as it’s ready. I might do a pre-order for future books but I’m generally not that patient once I have a book ready to go. :) And yes, sometime in the next few months (probably May or so?) I’m going to be releasing Liam’s Trust. :D Thanks for your comments! It really helps me get on the ball when I know someone’s waiting for a book. :)

So my birthday is Monday – I would gladly accept this book release as a consolation gift for getting older and grayer. And I’m always waiting for another book from you. You’re one of about 4 authors whose blogs I keep open looking for new releases.

I will do my best! :D

Let’s not talk about getting grayer, please. Every time I look in the mirror I am absolutely shocked that there are gray hairs teasing at my hairline. ;D I’m not supposed to get older. I have no idea what’s happening to me. ;)

Omg I’m so happy to hear that on both counts! I keep checking back for updates on your book progress lol

Any news on releases? Love your work!

-Also, I reread all the wolves heat series and is there an overlaying story going on? I’m just a little confused.

Many of the Wolves’ Heat books overlap. Is that what you mean? Ian’s Choice, Devon’s Gamble, and Brendan’s Fate overlap. Then there’s Matthew’s Chance, Salvadore’s Luck, Cam’s Fortune, Gerald’s Lot, and Mason’s Regret. Those overlap in the following heat season. Will’s Hope started a new heat season and it overlaps with Liam’s Trust and Eli’s Promise, and other possible future books. I haven’t set those in stone yet.

I’m focused on getting the new release in the New Canton series out as soon as I can. I’ve had a few delays, unfortunately, but nothing I can’t deal with this week I hope. :-) As for a new Wolves’ Heat, I hope to have Liam’s Trust ready by May or June. But between those, I have Taken with Tony to release, because it’s been coming along very well and I’m determined to finish it sooner rather than later.

I’m checking your blog and the kindle store multiple times a day, I’ll have you know. And I’m super excited for Taken with Tony as well! And I’m on absolute pins waiting for the next Wolves Heat. This is all good news!

Any news about this release? I can’t wait, it always makes me happy to hear about a new book of yours.

I had a few hiccups but it’s coming. This has been a crazy month, and there’s just nothing I can do to help that. I might be late with it, but I always get it out eventually. :)

Really, I’m just going to have to stick to not commenting about upcoming releases because I just can’t predict how things in my life are going to go, and that makes some people angry. (I had to delete a comment from an angry person this morning. I know I really love my books (I can’t be objective and I know it), but I don’t do preorders for that reason—so no one is left hanging—and there’s just no need for anyone to become so upset about a book I don’t get out as quickly as I’d hoped that they post belittling comments on my blog that I have to delete.)

Damn I’m sorry to hear that. I’m pretty excited for the new book, but with the state of the world right now, things are going to be delayed. It just happens, not a big deal. I just keep checking in and waiting for the announcement. I don’t know what the original comment said, but there’s no need to be rude to an author (especially one whose writing you enjoy, presumably?) for not getting books out on time during a global pandemic with major economic disruptions …

Anyway. I’m concerned about Liam’s Trust. I’m rereading the Wolve’s Heat series and trying to find out what I can about Liam, and man. Lemme tell you, you have an amazingly complex plot on your hands there, with so many moving parts and players and backstories and possibilities… I wouldn’t blame you at ask if that one got delayed because it’s just so much to keep track of.

Keep up the writing, and keep us updated too! Most of us are here for benevolent purposes, lol. Thank you!

Thank you for the kind words! I am very grateful for everyone who is willing to wait on my fickle muse and put up with my unfortunate tendency to be optimistic when maybe the situation doesn’t call for it. :-) I’ve done my best to resist posting about releases to avoid upsetting people, but I guess I’m just going to have to accept that it’s inevitable with some people. :D

I admit I spend a lot of time rereading the Wolves’ Heat books to make sure I’m not messing something up! ;D

Hi Odessa! its me again checking in on an update for the book lol hope all is ok :)

  7. Laurel

Still waiting and checking frequently. No pressure or anything :)

Random question: Have you thought about having audiobooks made? I’m sure there are pros and cons to it, but as I re-read some of your books, I find myself thinking about who would narrate them. Wolve’s Heat would definitely require someone with a Florida/Georgia twang. New Canton and R’H’ani Chronicles may work with a non regional accent, but I’m interested in how you think they should sound.

    Hope all is well!

I wish I had better news but right now things are kind of not great so I can’t really say when anything will be ready.

I do wish I had audiobooks but it’s a bit too much work for me to deal with on top of everything else so I keep waiting. But yes, I do think only a nice southern accent would feel right for the Wolves’ Heat guys. Nothing else would make sense to me. New Canton has an accent in my head, but it’s a mix of regions and local dialects depending on the background of whoever is speaking. And R’H’ani has its own sound in my head. More refined, to be honest. I hope that makes sense! :)
